Hiatus is here and it’s time to get creative! Introducing the Magnus/Alec Hiatus Fic Exchange for 2017!

How it works:

• Sign up on AO3. You must have an AO3 account to participate and your fic must be posted on AO3. Signups are open now and will close on Thursday, August 31st.
• You will make a request for a fic, and you’ll make an offer for a fic. In your request: 3-5 prompts. In your offer: What you will/won’t write. Fics are due December 10th.
• When signups are complete, you’ll be emailed someone else’s request form. Anonymously, you will write that person a fic from one of their prompts. Someone will also be doing the same thing for you!
• Your fic must be written in third person. I cannot stress this enough. If you write a fic in first person, it will not be posted to the collection. Write your fic in third person.
• Please ensure your fic is properly formatted. Nobody likes opening a fic to find a big block of text without paragraphs.
• Minimum word count is 5k. Anything over and above that is an extra special gift to your receiver. No one will complain about longer fics! Just remember, fics are due December 10th by 8pm.
• If you don’t think you’ll be able to write 5k in three months, don’t sign up. Your receiver will be disappointed if they do not get a fic. Save yourself the trouble and don’t bother. While there will be sign ups for pinch hitters, the general hope is that we don’t have to call on them in the end.
• There will be a call for beta’s after the first check-in, for those that don’t have a beta or end up writing for the person they would usually have beta.
