i’ve been told that the SHTV finale is on 7th may so before that, i’d just like to point out that-

• jem is BRITISH
• malec are married with two kids
• haline are married and may adopt
• sizzy are engaged
• clace are engaged
• magnus is canonically a bit taller than alec

Just a tiny addition, if you’ll let me:

• jem is not a fucking silent brother anymore
• jem is married to tessa (who?)
• jessa are having a baby
• yin fen is a lethal demon poison, not a vampire venom drug
• we do know who will herondale is and his story, he’s not just a name dropping
• alec is consul
• magnus is still high warlock of brooklyn
• malec are HAPPY and got their happily ever after despite not being immortal husbands
• ragnor is alive
• jia is not an asshole and is supportive of her daughter and wife
• there exist a shadowhunter and downworld alliance
• vampires and werewolves work together thanks to maia and lily chen (who?)
• clary saved everyone’s ass and is actually a hell of a heroine
• jace and clary are heads of the ny istitute
• simon is a shadowhunter
• climon are parabatai
• raphael is dead (sadly), not human, and aro along as ace
• rizzy was never, ever a thing, thank god
• izzy is not an ex-addict
• jocelyn is alive and well
• luke married the love of his life
• caterina loss is a blessing (who?)
• maryse still has her runes and is an amazing grandma
• robert died as a good man and a good father and a great grandfather
• alec has blue eyes

- lilith would never touch a hair on her son’s head let alone burn his skin off

- valentine never sent little jonathan to hell and was never afraid of him as a child, jonathan was pretty much a normal boy, and valentine corrupted him and beat him and made him into a monster, it’s valentine’s responsibility from start to finish

- jace and sebastian were connected by lilith runes which made a lot of sense, because of their deaths and the fact that they were the balance between light and dark, no one else could be connected the way they were

- clary never stabbed valentine, and she never slit his throat, clary only killed one person in the entirety of all the books and was affected by it

- sebastian and jace both have blonde hair and angelic faces and they look a lot like valentine

- sebastian is a great antagonist who doesn’t depend on his sister (he wants her love and approval, but he can litteraly achieve everything without her)

- sebastian and jace’s relationships play a huge part in the stories and development of both those characters

- glamor rune does not exist

- malec were together for many years before marrying each other

- magnus would never take the side of the seelie queen

- clace had sex for the first time when each of them was fully himself and not bonded with sebastian who can feel it

- raphael is simon’s sire, not camille

- camille never assaulted simon sexualy

- lilith never assaulted jace sexualy

- clary was never almost raped by a demon in attempt to make a warlock baby

- the only sexual assault attempt scene is the books is sickening to read and not sexualised and the victim gets to talk about it after

- sebastian only kissed clary once when she didn’t know they were related and it says in the books how wrong it was, he never pretended to be jace to get her consent to kiss her again

- mark of cain was given by the angel, not by downworlders

- simon never treated raphael like some magic wand that should fix all of his problems

- jace was never some stupid owl demon

- alec is an amazing archer and would never run away from demon screaming magnus’ name like some damsel in distress because he couldn’t hit the giant target in the sky

- magnus never acted like alec ought him something after just one time having drinks together

- if alec came to magnus asking for help because his sister’s life depends on it, magnus would never tell alec that the price for his help would be alec himself, not even as a joke

- there are a lot more things, not enough time in the world to name them all, and yes the books are not perfect, they are really shitty in some aspects, but they are so much better than what this show is doing

they had some good things, but eventually screw up every one of them so badly that i wish they never had them at all, that way i wouldn’t have hoped for some things to be ok and wouldn’t have felt so bad when they, time and time again, weren’t

i still enjoy some of their casting and some little moments but in all honesty they screw up everything i loved about the books and broke my heart
